Sportsmanship Lives in Death of Win Streak

Much ink, air-time, and cyber-space has been dedicated in recent years to lamenting the end of good sportsmanship and pointing at the many examples of a “me mentality”  that has supposedly taken over athletics at all levels.  This death of sportsmanship is greatly exaggerated.  Examples to the contrary abound, particularly at the high school level. Joe Drape of the New York Times has found evidence of its life in a most unlikely place – the ending of a national winning streak on the plains of Kansas.
