The evening of December 15 goes down in the history books as the starting point for the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) Hall of Fame as a dozen legendary athletic administrators were inducted into the inaugural class. The honor dinner was conducted during the National Athletic Directors Show in Grapevine, Texas.
Making up the first class to be recognized are: Alice "Cookie" Barron, Lakewood, CO; Lindy Callahan, Gulfport, MS; Robert "Rob" Conklin, Denver, CO; Evan Excell, South Jordan, UT; Roland Inskeep, CMAA, Carmel, IN; David Martens, Fairport, NY; Gerald "Jerry" McGee, CAA, Elizabeth City, NC; Theodore "Ted" Miller, CAA, Show Low, AZ; Dr. Lucia Norwood, CMAA, Stone Mountain, GA; James "Jim" Teff, CMAA, Lodi, WI; James "Jim" Watkins, CMAA, Louisville, KY; and Dr. John Youngblood, Virginia.
